Canada Ministry of Natural Resources Announces $7 Million Business Grant Program

Canada Ministry of Natural Resources
Canada Ministry of Natural Resources is encouraging the use of alternative clean energy sources for power installations with grants being awarded to companies up to $300,000 per project. The government funding program has set aside $7 million to support up to 150 projects with small business grants.

The programme d’aide a l’installation d’equipments solaires operationnels (PAIESO) program is targeting commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal and agricultural installations currently burning oil, diesel, gasoline, natural gas, propane and butane to generate power. The grant program supports the use of alternative, clean sources of electricity generation and less reliance on burning of fossil fuels.

Two alternative installations in particular  are eligible for grant funding. Companies who install solar thermal systems, using solar energy to pre-heat air or water, can receive small business grants up to 50% of the installation cost. Up to 75% is being granted to those who utilize photovoltaic (PV)systems.  Some of the advantages of using PV systems is more reliability, less fuel costs, noise and emissions.

The Canada Ministry of Natural Resources is dedicated "To foster the development and preservation of, and the production of information concerning, land and natural resources in Québec, with a view to achieving sustainable development and integrated management."
