AEDA Seeking Applications for Denver Area Small Business Grant Program

Arvada Economic Development AssociationThe Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) is taking applications for small business owners interested in improving their commercial properties. The grant offers a 50/50 matching grant up to $15,000.

The grant money can be used for improving the outside of the building, including facade, landscaping and signage. It can also be used for repairing roofs, replacing asphalt and painting. Businesses must be located within the Arvada city limits and be zoned commercial or industrial. Application deadline is April 15.

The Arvada Economic Development Association is responsible for supporting local business and increasing commercial, transportation, and economic development. Arvada is located just west of Denver. It has a population of about 106,000 and is often called the Celery Capital of the World.

The Arvada Small Business Grant program was established in 2011. This year's program has a budget of $100,000. Since its beginning, 24 projects have received matching grants from AEDA totalling over two million dollars in total project investment. The grants have resulted in an increase in business of 63 percent.
