Small business owners in Los Angeles, California who are of Jewish descent and need help with their business may look to the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. The non-profit organization has more than one program that will make a difference to small business owners.

Small business owners who are Jewish and can demonstrate financial need may apply at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles for a one-time grant of up to $6,000. The grant money can be used to acquire licenses or equipment to help their business succeed. Applicants must live in the Los Angeles area. The grant program requires that the business owner meet with one of the Federation’s partner organizations, such as JVS and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles.

The program is designed to help new business owners and those making a career change into self-employment for the first time. In addition to the grant program. the foundation offers up to $2,500 toward vocational training. Applicants who need new skills in order to pursue another job or go into business for themselves may qualify.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles is a non-profit organization that supports people from the Jewish community both local and abroad. The foundation is active in addressing areas of concern that affect Jewish communities on a local, national and international level.
