24 Massachusetts Companies Receive Small Business Assistance Grants

Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation
Twenty-four small non-profit businesses located in central Massachusetts were recently awarded grants through the Small Business Assistance Grants program. The companies were given grants from $20,000 to $65,000, totaling $700,000, through the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation.

The grant program is designed to help small, non-profits who are already established. By helping small businesses who are on a growth pattern, the state will also expand economic and entrepreneurial opportunity throughout the Commonwealth.

Massachusetts has a history of supporting the small business community, and it has proven successful in developing a quicker economic recovery to the state compared to others throughout the country. As Greg Bialecki, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development and Chair of the MGCC Board of Directors explained, “This assistance and investment from MGCC will support small business development and job creation, helping us to provide economic opportunity for all.”

Businesses who qualify for the grants must be not-for-profit with fewer than 20 employees who are located in Gateway Cities and other underserved communities in Massachusetts.
