Wyoming Program Helps Small Business Land Federal Grants

The Wyoming Small Business Innovation Research and Technology Transfer Program
The Wyoming Small Business Innovation Research and Technology Transfer Program gives grants to small business to help them get bigger grants from the federal government. Each year the program awards 10 to 15 grants which recipients can use to prepare federal grant proposals.

Federal grants are difficult to achieve. The applications are extensive and the competition is keen. So, the WSSI/STTR program offers help in the form of grant money that small businesses can use to help them compete against larger companies, educational institutions and other organizations for federal grants.

The grants are about $5,000 each, and the funding comes from the Wyoming Business Council. Last year the WSSI/STTR program awarded 13 grants, and many of these small businesses were able to successfully be awarded federal grants.

The purpose of the grant program is to help small businesses in rural areas compete for federal grants. WSSI/STTR wants to help, understanding how important it is for the success of these small businesses to earn a federal grant.
