Walmart Offering $100,000 Grants to Non-Profits Organizations

Walmart Grants For Non-Profits
Manufacturing is critical to keeping business in the U.S. Walmart is taking an important step to help that process along by offering grants to non-profit organizations who develop innovative ideas that will help the U.S. manufacturing business.

Non-profits have until April 22 to apply for a grant. Eligible non-profits include those involved in research, academic institutions, think tanks and other non-profit organizations dedicated to creating innovation in manufacturing. Eligible projects include those focused in textile manufacturing and consumer goods, including small motor manufacturing and tooling for injection molding.

The grants are offered through the Walmart U.S. Manufacturing Innovation Fund and include grants of $100,000 or more to qualifying organizations and projects. The grants are for one year; however, recipients may re-apply for further funding.

The purpose of the grants is to increase growth in U.S. manufacturing and create more jobs. As vice president of U.S. sourcing and domestic manufacturing for Walmart Cindi Marsiglio explained, “This is part of Walmart and the Walmart Foundation’s broader commitment to foster new ideas and jobs to promote strong communities and grow America’s manufacturing footprint.”
