Over 100 Small Businesses Around the Country Named Winners in the American Small Business Championship
Every small business has a story to tell. How did they get started? What is their secret to success? What sacrifices did they make in building their business? Small businesses around the country recently got their chance to tell their story in the American Small Business Championship.

The championship, sponsored by warehouse giant Sam's Club and nonprofit SCORE, offered the competition as a way to reward business entrepreneurs who have turned their businesses into a success through hard work and sacrifice. Businesses entering the competition submitted either 30-60 second videos or 250-word essays about their business. Each entry had to address the question “What sacrifice have you made to help your business succeed?”

Contest winners received a $1000 gift card from Sam's Club to purchase goods, along with consultant services provided by SCORE. A total of 102 small businesses around the country were selected as winners.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses not only get started but grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. Their work is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
