Mayor Mike Duggan of Detroit revealed the awards given to small businesses in grant funding through the Motor City Match grant program in October, 2015. Ten businesses received a combined $500,000 in grant funding. The deadline for the next round of funding has been extended.

More grants being awarded

The grant program has extended its deadline for business and property owners to January 10, 2016. But for those who might miss the deadline, there is more good news. Quarterly grants will also be awarded. The purpose of the grant program is to support the growth of small business and also connect small businesses with real estate opportunities to help with renovation of neighborhood buildings.

Dream It. Do it. Detroit

How it works: Motor City Match connects Detroit building owners looking to lease vacant space to a quality business with businesses who are looking for quality real estate opportunities in order to start or expand a business. Each quarter, the program is providing $500,000 in matching grants, plus small business and construction loans and support services to help businesses open and stay open.
