The National Association for the Self Employed (NASE) is a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. The organization supports small business owners who are NASE members with small business grants called Growth Grants.
Growth Grants help micro-business owners with financial help to develop and grow their businesses. In 2012, the organization awarded more than $50,000 in business grants to 11 NASE members.
The grants can be used to buy equipment, computers, develop a website, hire part-time workers, create a marketing program and other business efforts that will help their business grow. Small businesses may receive up to $5,000 in grant money. Since the program began, the organization has awarded more than $600,000 in grants.
Businesses must be members of NASE. When applying, they must include their business plan, an explanation of how the grant money will be used, and demonstrate how the grant will help their business grow.
