The Small Indie Business Grant Program was formed just recently to help small business owners in the South Bay of Los Angeles grow or maintain their business. Businesses located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles may apply.
Eligible businesses must be at least three years old and have no more than ten employees. "Indie" refers to the fact that businesses must be independently owned and not part of any regional or national business. Businesses located in approximately 18 cities may be eligible for a grant ranging anywhere from $250 to $1,000. Three small businesses will be awarded grants.
Businesses submitting an application to the grant program need to secure at least 25 votes from their customers or others. They must also be businesses that are very involved in helping their communities. Application deadline is August 15; winners will be notified in September.
The grants are funded by ShopLocal.us., a California-based organization that encourages more people to buy from their local businesses. The grant program was created to help local businesses and their communities.
