Nonprofits located in five different states may be eligible for business grants from Sun Life Financial. Eligible businesses are those who offer skills training that will foster educational success in high school to students under age 21.
Eligible nonprofit businesses must be located in Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; San Francisco, CA; Tulsa or Oklahoma City, OK; or South Florida, including the counties of Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Broward, Lee, Hendry, Collier, and Monroe. Their services must be focused on helping under-served youth to achieve success in high school and go on to continue their post-secondary education. They must also be located in large urban school districts.
Four nonprofits will be awarded $50,000 grants each. These nonprofits will also be required to nominate a student for a Sun Life Rising Star scholarship. Organizations have until June 9 to submit their applications for a grant.
The grants are made possible through donations from the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the Boston Celtics. Sun Life Financial is a financial services organization located in Toronto, Canada, that offers protection and wealth products and services to individual and corporate customers.
