Small Businesses in Miami Eligible for Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program
Applications are being accepted from small businesses located in Northeast Miami-Dade, Florida, for the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. The annual program awards up to $5,000 in business grant money to mom and pop small businesses located in District 4.
To qualify for the grant, businesses must be at least two years old and have no more than seven employees. Businesses must be for-profit and can include home-based businesses. Business owners receiving grants must agree to attend a business training workshop.
The grant money may be used for business expenses that include equipment, supplies, inventory, insurance, security systems, advertising and marketing expenses, and small renovations. Business owners may own up to two businesses and past recipients may also apply, although first-time grant recipients will be considered first.
The grant is offered each year by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners.
The purpose of the grant is to provide financial assistance to small business owners in District 4 that will assist them in becoming more competitive. The grant is only available for businesses located in District 4.
