Moving Your Business to Hawaii Could Get You a $5,000 Grant
The Hawaiian Islands are not only a great place to live, but also a great place to run a business. And the Maui Office of Economic Development wants to help by offering Small Business Revitalization grants up to $5,000 for small for-profit businesses located in Maui County’s rural communities of Lānaʻi, Hāna and Molokaʻi.
Who is eligible
Eligible businesses include small for-profit business with fewer than 10 employees. Small enterprises must be in business long enough to file one federal and one state tax return. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to increase employment for low-income island residents. Grants range from $500 to $5,000. Sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships or LLCs may apply.
Deadline to apply
The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (OED) has already awarded $24,000 in Small Business Revitalization grants to businesses on Lānaʻi. They are now taking applications for grants from businesses located in Hāna and Molokaʻi.
The deadline to apply is April 15, 2015.
