South Florida is home to many Native Americans, including Seminole and Miccosukee tribes. The funding is being provided to help Native American small businesses succeed by competing in more federal, state and local government markets, and for more government business contracts.
The SBA plans to award $700,000 in grants that will help Native American small businesses gain more technical assistance. This will help them prosper and grow. According to SBA South Florida District Director Francisco "Pancho" Marrero, many small businesses can qualify for the grants.
The grants will provide funding opportunities for Native American Micro Enterprise Business Services. Deadline to apply is July 11, 2015.
