Oregon Offering $450,000 in Grants to Small Businesses
Small businesses in Oregon who want to market their products and services to an international market may apply now for a Small Business Administration grant. The grants are being made available through Oregon's State Trade and Export Promotion program.

Eligible companies must have at least 75 percent of the company’s total employees employed in Oregon. The grants will help offset costs involved in marketing their products to overseas customers.

According to Oregon Governor Kate Brown, only about 1 percent of U.S. small businesses export, and most is due to the cost. International trade shows are particularly expensive. The grants are intended to help defray some of those expenses.

This is the fourth time Business Oregon, the state’s economic development agency, has made grants available to small businesses. In total, Business Oregon has provided grants to 153 Oregon small businesses, and it is producing results. The grants have produced a reported $36 million in export sales.
