Small businesses in the state of Utah have a chance to win up to $10K in funding to be used to help offset the costs associated with global expansion. The awards are funded by JPMorgan Chase & Co., World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah) and Salt Lake County as part of the Utah Export Acceleration Grant program.
Strong economic climate
Utah has a strong economic climate with a growing number of small-to-medium-sized businesses, many of which are ready to expand internationally. The grants will help them accomplish this. Funds from the Utah Export Acceleration Grant may be used by small businesses for services or resources that help them grow their company internationally. This could include legal and consulting work, money for international market research, translation services or funding to attend a trade mission.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. contributed $200K to the grant program. The Utah Export Acceleration grant is an important part of a larger initiative called the Global Cities Initiative (GCI), a plan to increase exports in the Salt Lake metro area.
In addition to receiving grant money, recipients will also have the opportunity to compete in a pitch competition at the end of the year for a chance to receive additional funding.
