
The best idea submitted will win a $50,000 business grant. In addition, other semi-finalist winners will receive free business services, including legal advice, marketing and advertising support, and information technology assistance provided by local businesses and organizations.
Businesses located in the midtown area of Detroit may apply, beginning June 3, 2013. Past winners have included restaurants, home furnishing stores, coffee shops, bake stores, and more. The purpose of the grant contest is to support retail entrepreneurs in downtown Detroit, create more jobs, and make Detroit a thriving urban community.
