Free Program Giving Much-Needed Financial Assistance to Local Mom and Pop Small Businesses
Small businesses in the Miami-Dade County, Florida area may once again apply for The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. The program was created to provide financial and technical assistance to small for-profit businesses.
The grant program is offered through the Neighbors And Neighbors Association (NANA), a non-profit which was established in 1995 to form a working relationship among small grocery stores. The non-profit organization offers both the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program and the Micro-Enterprise Assistance Grant Program to provide financial and technical assistance to small businesses.
Thirteen districts will be accepting applications for grants. Each district has its own application closing date. Many districts are now accepting applications for grants.
Eligible businesses cannot have more than 7 employees and must have been in business for at least two years. The grants are for for-profit businesses only; non-profits are not eligible. Grant money may be used for inventory, supplies, equipment, marketing, advertising and other professional services.
