Richmond, VA Small Businesses Receive $10,000 SEED Grants

Supporting East End Entrepreneurial Development SEED is the Supporting East End Entrepreneurial Development program in Richmond, Virginia, or SEED, a three-year grant program offered by the Bon Secours Richmond Health System. It is offering grants to small businesses who reside in the city's East end.

Businesses who qualify may receive up to $10,000 in grant money. In addition to the grant money, the businesses will receive free marketing and business consulting through local Blueberry Marketing.

The program is administered by the Local Initiatives Support Corp. (LISC), which manages applications and helps businesses develop their business plans and determine how to use the grant money. Grants have been used for marketing, purchasing of equipment and other business needs.

The purpose of the grant program is to revitalize the city's East end and bring more visitors to the area. It will also create more jobs and businesses. This is the third round of grants for the program, and Bon Secours Richmond Health System hopes to continue the program. The organization has awarded $108,500 grants so far to eight businesses. Deadline for applications is August 29.

Bon Secours Richmond Health System and Hospital serves the health care needs of Richmond area residents. Their grant program is part of a greater effort to also serve the community's economic and social needs.
