Each qualifying small business must apply through their local District; a total of 12 Districts offer applications, and close dates vary by district. Grant money can be used to purchase equipment, supplies, marketing and advertising, buying inventory, building liability insurance, installing security systems and making minor renovations.
Eligible businesses must have no more than seven full-time employees and be in business for at least one year. Home-based businesses may also apply. The grant is being offered by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners as an effort to provide financial and technical assistance to qualified small businesses.
