Find Out How "10,000 Small Businesses" Is Helping Small Companies Across the Country
Investment banking giant Goldman Sachs has a program called "10,000 Small Businesses" that is specifically designed to help small business owners grow their business. The program, which launched in 2009, has reported some pretty impressive results. In fact, a recent report by Babson College, a private business school in Massachusetts, shows that more than 60 percent of small businesses who participate in the program increase their revenues.

The proof is in the numbers

According to the Babson College report:

  • 63.7 percent of participants increased revenues within 6 months
  • 44.8 percent of participants increased jobs within 6 months

These numbers are significantly higher than the 37 percent and 18 percent respectively of small businesses who increase revenues and add jobs, according to data from the National Small Business Association.

How do they do it?

The program teaches small business owners valuable business skills that changes how they manage their companies, and gives them greater access to capital and support services for their business. To date, the program has had 4,400 participants from 20 different locations across the U.S. The program is funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation.
