Verizon has partnered with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to launch the Verizon Small Business Recovery Fund, which offers grants to help small businesses meet urgent financial holes until normal operations can resume or until other more permanent funding becomes available.
Small businesses across the country are being threatened with severe economic challenges as a result of COVID-19. Financial assistance in these crucial times can make the difference between remaining in business or permanently closing, resulting in lost income, jobs, and economic stability.
LISC will use the Verizon funding to provide grants of up to $10,000 to businesses facing immediate financial pressure because of COVID-19 - especially entrepreneurs of color, women-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically underserved communities who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital.
As audiences support their favorite small businesses with #PayItForwardLIVE, Verizon will pledge an additional $10 peruse of the hashtag, up to $2.5 million, for a total of up to $5 million in funding. For more details, click here
