The Nebraska Department of Economic Development just announced a new grant program for small Nebraska businesses who want to increase their export business. The grant program is called The International Market Access Grant program and its aim is to help small businesses reach international markets.
The program will provide reimbursement for eligible expenses for small companies located in Nebraska. Eligible expenses include those related to participation in export-related activities. This can include trade missions, international sales trips, participating in U.S. Department of Commerce business matchmaking programs, and international advertising and marketing that requires the use of translating and printing services.
The goal is to not only increase the number of small businesses who are exporting but also increase the value of exports by small businesses located in Nebraska. Grants are awarded up to $20,000. Qualifying companies must meet the definition of a small business as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration guidelines.
