Northeast SARE Patnership Grants Offered to Agricultural Businesses Located in 13 States

Partnership Grants are offered to businesses who are somehow involved in helping the agricultural community by developing sustainable methods. Businesses whose projects are located in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. may apply.

What Partnership Grants include

Eligible projects are those that benefit farmers and the agricultural community. Projects may include growing alternative crops, pest control, maintaining the health of cattle, and other initiatives. The grant funds can be used to purchase materials used in the project, for consultant fees and to pay for materials, lab fees, travel expenses and more.

The grants are offered by the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) non-profit whose mission is to foster the growth of sustainable methods used in the farming community. Grants are awarded up to $15,000 and can last up to two years. SARE is part of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and was founded in 1990 by means of Title XVI of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act.
