Winners of the 2014 Contest |
For the third year in a row, FedEx is offering up to $25,000 in business grants to small businesses around the country. Small business owners have until February 12, 2015 to enter this year's competition. Last year's winners were a family-run goat dairy in rural Vermont that turned a caramel-making hobby into a grand prize winning small business.
This year, a total of 10 grants will be awarded. Any for-profit small business is eligible to enter. Applicants must be solid business enterprises with under 100 employees that have been in operation for six months or more. Non-profit businesses are not eligible.
Business owners may apply online by submitting a profile of their business along with four photos, including a company logo, that best represent their products or services. They must also describe how their business benefits their community and how they would plan to use the grant money to enhance their business.
This is the third year that global courier delivery services company FedEx has launched a grant contest to help small businesses become successful. A total of $75,000 in grants will be awarded, which is an increase over last year's contest by $25,000.
