Who can apply
Three grants are awarded annually in increments of $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000. Applicant's business must be a a sole proprietorship or legally incorporated LLC, S-Corp, or C-Corp or formal partnership. Nonprofits may also apply for a grant.
Deadline for the next award is September 30.
How to apply
Eligible applicants may apply online by submitting their business idea, the history of their company and it's products or services, how the grant money will be used, and how it will impact others. Judges choose 5-10 finalists who are then posted on the foundation's website so the public can vote on who will receive grant awards.
StreetShares, a small-business funding community headquartered in Reston, Virginia, has a foundation with an annual grant competition for businesses owned by veterans, reservists, or active-duty members of the armed forces or the spouse of such a person. There are three grants annually: $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000.
