What the funds will provide
With the additional funding, the city will be able to provide more services to help small businesses grow. These will include:
- Support for low-income and minority women business owners
- Disaster recovery funds to help small businesses recover from disasters to commercial buildings
- Helping restaurant and other food businesses by accelerating the permit process
- Expand the program that provides help for façade and tenant improvements to buildings
- Provide more legal services and legal assistance
San Francisco's Invest in Neighborhoods Initiative has awarded over 20 grants to businesses totaling almost $450,000 in just the past year to improve neighborhoods. In addition, they program has awarded a total of $480,000 to 31 businesses for facade improvements and provided 118 loans totaling $4.6 million to small businesses.
