It seems the "third time is a charm" for small businesses in Maui. The Office of Economic Development, for the third time in a row, is offering business grants to for-profit small business owners.
Q. Who is eligible?
A. Small businesses with fewer than 10 employees who do business in Maui County’s rural communities, including Hāna and Molokaʻi, are eligible for grants that range from $500 to $5,000. Non-profits are not eligible.
Q. How can the grant money be used?
A. The grant money can be used for for new equipment, renovation, developing websites, creating marketing materials, or other business-related expenses incurred in helping the businesses grow, prosper and create jobs.
Q. How can small businesses apply?
A. Eligible small businesses may apply online at the Office of Economic Development website. The link to the application is located on “Grants & Awards” on the left side. Applicants may receive more information by calling 242-5761 or email susie@lokahipacific.org.
Q. Is there a deadline to apply?
A. Yes. The deadline for applying for this round of funding is Oct. 17, 2016.
