BJ's Charitable Foundation Awards Grants to Small Non-Profits

BJ's Charitable Foundation
Small non-profit organizations that provide services to people in need may be eligible for grants from BJ's Charitable Foundation. Grants are awarded each quarter for non-profits that provide health care, education, self sufficiency and hunger prevention services in areas where BJ's has a presence.

The company has locations in the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia. Non-profit businesses in existence for one year or more may apply. They must be focused on supplying basic needs to the less fortunate without discrimination.

Hunger prevention initiatives can include food banks or pantries, and soup kitchens. Self-sufficiency programs may include shelter programs or programs that offer clothing and supplies as well as safety for families in need. Health care can include free medical clinics, and medical supplies for other health needs such as vision, dental and hearing. Grants will also fund education and literacy programs for the disadvantaged.

The foundation is the charitable arm of BJ's Wholesale Club, headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts. BJ's provides a wide variety of merchandise through club membership that includes furniture, electronics, computers, televisions, cameras, office supplies, toys, sports equipment and more.
