The Bank of Hawaii established a grant program in 2012 called the Small Business Revitalization and Development Grants program. The purpose of the program is to encourage economic development in Saipan.
Grants of $5,000 are awarded to qualifying businesses to help them expand and grow. Saipan is an island located in the Western Pacific Ocean north of the equator in an area known as the Marianas, about 120 miles north of Guam. To the east are the Hawaiian Islands. They are kindred spirits, all uniquely positioned in the vast North Pacific.
Five grants are awarded to small businesses which will help them with new equipment, inventory, materials, and additional staff. The grant support of $5,000 each will not only help the small businesses grow but also contribute toward the growth of Saipan communities.
Bank of Hawaii supports the islands of Hawaii as well as the Saipan community with other grants through its charitable foundation. They are committed to fostering economic development to help its communities grow and thrive.
