Who can apply?
Applicants must be Michigan residents who want to enter their business idea for a chance to win. Businesses already registered must provide evidence the entity is based in the State of Michigan and is less than two years old. Winning funds must be used to start a business venture in Michigan.
In addition to the cash funding, the annual competition is designed to help grow small businesses and to increase entrepreneurship in the state of Michigan. From all applications received prior to the deadline, finalists will be selected by a panel of judges. The finalists will pitch their business idea for a chance to win cash prizes and other support.
Application deadline is February 28, 2018.
Since 2013, the GreenLight Business Model Competition has awarded over $300,000 to early-stage, Michigan-based companies.
